Very Sad News
“There are those who open their hearts to others…. Who never think twice about giving of themselves. They are the wonderful warm hearted people who make all the difference in our lives.” Gilda Radner
It is with a very heavy heart that I am sad to share that Helen Andrews friend, mother, wife, MLFA coach, and executive board member has passed away. Helen gave of her time and talent to build and make Pilgrim Park Middle School one of the premier teams of the MLFA. Helen’s gifts weren’t just confined to her team, but she gave countless hours molding our rubrics and rules so that judging was as efficient and fair as possible. Helen, besides being a wonderful teacher, coach, and mentor for the MLFA, was above all a beautiful and giving friend. She was always willing to share a wonderful story to cheer you up, an anecdote that could bring a smile, and a warm hug to let you know that she cared and wanted the best for you. Her mere presence could light up a room. Helen will be missed by all in the organization that knew her, as well as all the countless middle schoolers, judges, parents, coaches, and students who lives she touched. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Andrews family and the Pilgrim Park Forensic team. I will share information regarding services and ways to support both the family and the Pilgrim Park team as I am made aware of their needs and wishes. In the meantime all of you will be kept in my thoughts and prayers.
