Updates and Announcements

2021 Categories

Just a reminder that there are no partner or group entries allowed this year and that all competitors must be individual participants this year.  For a list of this year’s categories and descriptions, please check out this document. The following categories will not be offered for the 2021 season:

    • Impromptu Speaking
    • Group Acting
    • Group Improvisation
    • Group Interpretation

For more information and resources to support your team during this year’s virtual season, please check out this site.

Mock Tournament

An MLFA sponsored mock tournament is now open for registration. It is for coaches and judges. Use a different personal email address, add you and your colleagues to your team roster, register yourself and fellow coaches in any categories you wish, schedule judges, and join the fun at 10:00 AM January 30th. No performing, just witty banter and an opportunity to get the students’ point of view.

Judges’ Training

Don’t forget, every judge on your team – or potential judge, MUST attend a training and pass the test. They should also watch the Speechwire tutorial about the ballots and what to expect. Remember, everyone logs into live.speechwire.com to compete in a tournament. Everything they need to know in life including the judge training schedule is on the virtual web site link for judges.

The 2021 MLFA shirts are ready for purchase! Buying apparel supports the MLFA in offering guidance, support, and a robust State Forensics Competition to participating Wisconsin schools! Check out this year’s limited-edition apparel here! Orders are due by February 10th and ANYONE (coaches, students, families, etc.) can order and pay online!
